From the Cohorts

NF

Norzilah Fadzillah

Puchong, Selangor

"I did the Tended Garden Cohort in early 2025. What I didn't expect was how much of it was about having conversations — with my husband, with the other participants, and honestly with myself. The printed reader is still on my bedside table."

Lee Hwee Meng

Subang Jaya, Selangor

"Good programme for someone who already knows they need to be more structured but doesn't know where to start. The seasonal framework sounds abstract until you actually use it — then it clicks. Would have liked slightly more time on the EPF section but I understand that's not the focus."

Ramesh Krishnan

Petaling Jaya, Selangor

"I came because a colleague recommended it. I left with a different way of thinking about what saving even means at my stage of life. The facilitators are clear that they're not financial advisers — they stick to it, and it actually makes the education feel more trustworthy, not less."

Seasonal Saving Workshop · January 2025

Siti Liyana Azhar

Shah Alam, Selangor

"My husband and I did the Tended Garden together. The conversation prompts in week four were honestly more useful than anything I've read about saving. We came out of it with an actual routine, not just good intentions."

"Solid programme. The weekend workshop was shorter than I expected to need, but it gave me enough to work with independently for a few months. I'll probably do the Saving Rhythms later in the year when things settle down at work."

"I was sceptical going in — I've been to financial seminars that were just polished product pitches. Crowberry is genuinely different. They direct you to a financial planner when it's time, rather than acting as one themselves. That clarity made it easy to actually absorb the content."

Three Household Stories

Composites drawn from participant feedback across multiple cohort cycles. Details changed for privacy.

The household with two incomes and no shared system

Tended Garden Cohort · 10 weeks

The Situation

A couple in their mid-forties with two grown children still at home and aging parents in the picture. Both working, both saving separately, no shared view of what the household was actually doing financially. The result was a lot of friction and little visibility.

Through the Programme

The conversation prompts in weeks four and five opened up discussions they had been avoiding. By week seven, they had agreed on a shared quarterly review rhythm. Both attended as a couple — the cohort cap allowed for this without crowding the group.

What Changed

A quarterly household review habit established and maintained for nine months since the programme ended. They subsequently engaged a licensed financial planner through the referral directory — their first time doing so in fourteen years of marriage.

"The programme gave us the language for conversations we couldn't quite start before."

The single household rethinking habits in their fifties

Saving Rhythms Programme · 6 weeks

The Situation

A civil servant in her early fifties, single household, with a sense that her saving habits had been adequate in earlier years but were no longer suited to where she was. End-of-year bonuses spent without intention. No quarterly review practice.

Through the Programme

The rhythm calendar gave her a framework she could use alone. The small-group format meant the evenings were useful even when she found her situation didn't map exactly to the other participants' — the conversation was still relevant.

What Changed

A consistent quarterly review routine across two full cycles since completing the programme. Her words: she now "knows what she's doing with money at year-end" rather than looking back regretfully in January.

"Six weeks felt like the right length. Long enough to build something real."
